I just found out, and added to the gallery, 45 new smallish mq pictures of Sandy at “The Blind Side” press conference, back in 2009. Some has a slight tag on it, but mostly are untagged.

Congratulations to Sandra Bullock, for her dramatic leading actress Golden Globe. As a long time fan, I’m really happy and proud.

Pictures are on the way. You can watch her acceptance speech at our video archive, but the video will be replaced soon for a better quality one.

‘Blind Side’ first female-led film to cross $200 mil

Sandra Bullock rang in the New Year making box office history. Sometime over the weekend, Bullock starrer “The Blind Side” became the first in history driven solely by a top female star to jump the $200 million mark at the domestic B.O.

To be precise, the film finished the frame with a cume of $208.5 million, in its seventh week in release. Over the weekend, it rose a remarkable 10% over the previous week, and it’s still got plenty of life left, according to Warner Bros. prexy of domestic distribution Dan Fellman.

“Blind Side” was fully financed and produced by AlconEntertainment. Project was brought in by Molly Smith, daughter of Alcon backer Fred Smith, founder of FedEx.

Among the likes of Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Angelina Jolie, Reese Witherspoon and Bullock, it’s hard to believe that none of the films in which they had solo top billing hadn’t reached $200 million.

If the Golden Globe nominations didn’t already make it obvious, the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards list clinched it: Sandra Bullock is well on her way to Oscar nomination.

Meryl Streep’s and Sandra Bullock’s campaigns for Academy Awards are sailing quite smoothly, thankyouverymuch, with Golden Globe noms for best actress (Bullock, in “The Blind Side”) and best supporting actress (Streep in both “Julie & Julia” and “It’s Complicated”) under their belts. Bullock and Streep are competing against each other for the SAG best actress award because, under SAG rules, Streep’s part as Julia Childs in “Julie & Julia” is considered a lead role, not a supporting one.

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role

• Sandra Bullock, The Blind Side
• Helen Mirren, The Last Station
• Carey Mulligan, An Education
• Gabourey Sidibe, Precious
• Meryl Streep, Julie & Julia

Congratulations, again, Sandra!

As previously posted, Sandra attended last night the premiere of “The Blind Side” in her new city, New Orleans. The event was done to raise money for Warren Easton High School, devastated by Katrina in 2005. Check the pictures below:
