A few days ago was reported that Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky (“Bad Teacher,” “The Office,” “Year One”) were rewriting the script for director Paul Feig’s buddy-cop comedy follow-up to “Bridesmaids” that will star Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy, and today we heard the movie got a title: The Heat.
Written by “Parks and Recreation” scribe Katie Dippold , the film centers around the strained relationship between a high-strung FBI agent and a “unconventional” Boston police officer. Also joining them in some way is YouTube comic Spoken Reasons, who will play a character named Terrell Rojas, though all other details about the character are unknown.
The first open casting call for the currently untitled “Buddy Cop Comedy” starring Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy will take place in Boston, MA on June 23.
The movie, which is being directed by Paul Feig and focuses on the “strained relationship between a high-strung FBI agent an unconventional Boston cop,” is expected to begin filming in Boston next month.
Producers are looking for adults over 18, with a specific need for cops, prison guards, drug dealers, ex-convicts, and hookers.
