Actress Sandra Bullock will walk the red carpet in New Orleans on Thursday for an evening premiere of her latest film, “The Blind Side.”

Bullock, who recently bought a home in New Orleans, is hosting the event with film studio Warner Bros. to raise money for Warren Easton High School, which was flooded by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Bullock already has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the school for scholarships, new band uniforms, auditorium renovations and a new health clinic.

The movie, which opens in theaters nationwide Friday, is based on a true story of a poor teenager taken in by a family and recruited by a major college to play football. It also stars country singer Tim McGraw.

Sandra Bullock’s portrayal of southern mom Leigh Anne Tuohy in the new film The Blind Side finds her in a blond wig, looking astonishingly like Kathie Lee Gifford, according to Today’s Matt Lauer.

Even though Kathie Lee instantly appears on set to compare hair, it’s her rear end that attracts Bullock’s admiration.

Look for her next project to be a Kathie Lee biopic. Called The Back Side

MoviesOnline sat down with Sandra Bullock, Tim McGraw, Quinton Aaron, and director John Lee Hancock to talk about their new film, “The Blind Side.”

“The Blind Side” depicts the remarkable true story of Michael Oher, a homeless African-American youngster from a broken home, taken in by the Touhys, a well-to-do white family who help him fulfill his potential. At the same time, Oher’s presence in the Touhys’ lives leads them to some insightful self-discoveries of their own. Living in his new environment, the teen faces a completely different set of challenges to overcome. As a football player and student, Oher works hard and, with the help of his coaches and adopted family, becomes an All-American offensive left tackle.

Sandra Bullock, Tim McGraw, Quinton Aaron, John Lee Hancock are fabulous people and we really appreciated their time. Here’s what they had to tell us:3

Q: You’re playing people who are real but aren’t famous so the audience wouldn’t know them. When you go about that, what are you looking for and how do you set about trying to capture the spirit of that person?

TIM: I think more of the spirit. I wasn’t really trying to imitate anybody. I wouldn’t want to imitate Sean for anything. I think that I can relate to him in a lot of ways. We both grew up in Louisiana. I was an athlete and he was an athlete, although I wasn’t quite the athlete that he was. And also, as a kid I remember, I’m going to give him a few years and say high school, but I remember watching him play for Ole Miss. As a kid growing up in northern Louisiana, we got to see a lot of Ole Miss games, and I have a wife that runs everything athome , so I think I can relate to Sean in a lot of ways, and the script was so well written that I just wanted to capture the essence of it and not really try to imitate anybody.

QUINTON: With me, me and Michael have a lot of similarities as far as our personalities. We’re both gentle giants, we keep to ourselves, we’re both the biggest kids in our school. I hadn’t met him, so I didn’t want to try to overact or anything or whatever.John Lee , my coach, Coach Lee, he made me feel comfortable with being myself in the role, so I just tried to put myself in the positions that he was in, based off the script, and do the best I could.

SANDRA: That’s a tough one because I do think that I tried to get as close – I mean, you don’t meet an energy like Leigh Anne’s ever. She might not be famous here, but she’s known in other places and I felt a great sense of fear in trying to tackle that person she is, but also a great sense of obligation to be true to this wonderful dynamic. John could not explain Leigh Ann to save his life, and when I met Leigh Anne, I said, “Now I know why you can’t, because she’s original.” But there’s such a dynamic that exists between those people and their children that you wanted to pay homage to them. I wanted to do it as closely as I could, so I did my best.

The comedy All About Steve is the hilarious tale of a woman who, after falling hard for a guy, thinks they’re an item. Unfortunately, as far as Steve is concerned, she’s just a crazy stalker that he can’t seem to get away from.

Mary Horowitz (Sandra Bullock) is a cruciverbalist, or crossword puzzle constructor, for a local newspaper. Her brain is full of an endless stream of arcane information, which she is happy to share with anyone she comes across, whether they are actually interested or not. Nothing in Mary’s life is typical, from the fact that she lives with her eccentric parents, to her bright red go-go boots, to her conclusion that handsome cable-news cameraman Steve (Bradley Cooper) is “the one,” after only one blind date. Once she decides to pursue Steve relentlessly, as he crisscrosses the country covering breaking news stories with reporter Hartman Hughes (Thomas Haden Church) and their producer (Ken Jeong), Steve becomes increasingly unhinged, before eventually learning to truly appreciate Mary for all of her uniqueness.

At the film’s press day, co-stars Sandra Bullock, Bradley Cooper, Thomas Haden Church and Ken Jeong told IESB about making this quirky, off-beat comedy, and joked about the possibility of teaming up with Sandra for The Hangover 2.

Sandra Bullock says her husband Jesse James has struggled to adjust to being married to a Hollywood star.

The 44-year-old actress – who is married to motorcycle shop owner Jesse James – admits Jesse struggled when he was thrust into the spotlight after they began dating.

She said: “I think I’ve benefited from marrying him, but I think him marrying me brought on so many hardships and cruelty from people because of the limelight now being shined on all of them. Thank God he still loves me.

“I, unfortunately brought some attention to him which he didn’t necessarily want. But guess what? He loves me. I married an average Joe who normally would be fixing your car and people normally look down on what he did but I know how extraordinary he is and I’m thankful that with all the attention he’s still OK being with me. He doesn’t like it, but he’s OK.”

Sandra added she worries about the attention her career brings to her loved ones, adding the way their lives become public property is unfair.

Asked why so many famous people choose to marry other celebrities like she has done, Sandra replied: “Did you know my husband before I married him? Did you know who he was? Most people, didn’t and I’m sure he preferred that.

“My husband is an extraordinary human being, one of the most talented people I have ever met in my life, a great father, an amazing husband and an insanely funny man. No one knew who he was outside of the people who should know who he was.

“Sadly, the nature of what I do brings notice to people who have no desire to be in that spotlight, and it can destroy lives.” [Source]
