After years of waiting, the first footage from Alfonso Cuaron’s first film since “Children of Men,” “Gravity,” is now online. In a teaser for the full trailer, which drops tomorrow, Sandra Bullock and George Clooney face outer space peril when their shuttle is destroyed.
Even in the brief clip, you can already see the impressive effects work that has taken a long time to perfect. (MTV)
The Gravity trailer got classified this week. Alberta Film Classification (Canadian classification system) updated their recently classified list with the Gravity rating. The movie will be distributed by Warner Bros. and the trailer got a PG rating with a 1:25 running time. Looking forward to see it!
Thanks Lindsey for the heads up!
The movie isn’t even out yet but Fox is already developing the script for a sequel for “The Heat”, according Deadline:
The Heat, the Paul Feig-directed comedy that stars Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock is sequel bound. Chernin Entertainment and Fox have already made a pricey deal with Katie Dippold to script the sequel. I told you recently about another deal they made with Dippold for an edgy mother/daughter comedy vehicle for Feig, but evidently that deal included an assignment for her to write the sequel. Dippold wrote The Heat, about mismatched female FBI agents in Boston, with ads that look like they are going to continue McCarthy’s ascension as a top physical comedienne, grounded by Bullock’s prudish counterpart. Dippold’s repped by WME and 3 Arts.
Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy’s buddy cop comedy “The Heat” will be screened in advance for Boston police officers and FBI agents.
The city was stunned Monday after twin bombings at the Boston Marathon killed three people and injured scores more.
Bullock, who plays an uptight “Miss Congeniality”-esque FBI agent sent to work on a case in Boston in the film, thought the screening was a small token of appreciation.
“It’s been an amazing tightknit community before this happened, and it just bonded a community even more. I don’t think a screening would ever be enough, feel like it’s enough to do for them.
I think having been there, having had our entire crew around us all the time, who are all from Boston, you’re just hoping. And when you see the aftermath, I try to look on the other side, which is, ‘Look how amazing the people were. Look at those people that ran toward everyone without thinking twice about themselves.’ “
